Fix Our Roads.
Control Taxes.
Restore Accountability.
Lifelong Hamiltonian · Ward 7 since 1995 · Former Secondary Principal
I’m Mark Daly — a lifelong Hamiltonian and Ward 7 resident since 1995. I spent 34 years in education, including 14 years as a secondary school principal at St. Jean de Brébeuf Catholic Secondary School and Cathedral High School.
Throughout my career, I managed budgets, led large teams, and made difficult decisions that affected people’s lives. I tried to make those decisions with both discipline and genuine care. Ward 7 deserves that same standard at City Hall.
My campaign is focused on three priorities: Fix Our Roads. Control Taxes. Restore Accountability.
Hamilton roads are crumbling. Property taxes keep rising faster than inflation. Residents are paying more and not seeing the results they should expect.
Ward 7 needs stronger representation at City Hall — and a councillor who will not support tax increases above inflation.
I don’t accept that this is the best we can do in Hamilton. That’s why I’m running.
FIX OUR ROADS.
Hamilton roads are crumbling.
Ward 7 and Hamilton deserve safer, better-maintained roads, sidewalks, and crosswalks.
Basic infrastructure must come first.
CONTROL TAXES.
Hamilton property taxes rose more than 22.8% from 2022 to 2026 — close to double the rate of inflation.
Ward 7 Councillor Esther Pauls voted in favour of the 2023 budget, which included a 5.85% tax increase, and the 2024 budget, which included a 5.79% increase.
I will not support tax increases above inflation.
RESTORE ACCOUNTABILITY.
City Hall’s own Auditor General has documented millions in mismanagement.
Residents deserve transparency, fiscal discipline, and better value for every dollar spent.
At St. Jean de Brébeuf, I led a school-community effort alongside parents, staff, and students to advocate for new sidewalks on Acadia Drive and Upper Sherman Avenue.
It started with a simple concern: students and families needed a safer walk to school. Together, we brought that concern to City Hall and got results.
Real infrastructure. Real results. For Ward 7 — before I ever considered running for office.
If nothing changes at City Hall, nothing changes.
I’m asking for your vote.
